GOOD QUESTIONS. CLEAR ANSWERS.

Questions before we talk

Still have a question? Send it over and I’ll help you find the answer.

Getting started

What happens on our first call?+

You tell me who needs coverage, your state, your budget, and any doctors or prescriptions that matter. I explain the options in plain language and answer your questions. You decide whether to move forward.

What should I have ready before we talk?+

It helps to know who needs coverage and their ages, your state and ZIP code, a rough household income, your preferred doctors, and regular prescriptions. If you are missing something, we can still start.

Which states are you licensed in?+

I’m licensed in the states listed above. Not sure about yours? Send me a quick note.

Choosing coverage

Are private plans the same as Marketplace plans?+

No. ACA Marketplace plans and private products can have very different protections and benefits. Some private plans use medical underwriting, exclude pre-existing conditions, or limit what they pay. We’ll discuss the details and tradeoffs before you apply.

What’s the difference between HMO, PPO, and EPO plans?+

An HMO usually requires you to stay in its network and may require referrals. A PPO gives you more freedom to see out-of-network providers, usually at a higher cost. An EPO generally covers only in-network care outside of emergencies. Rules vary by plan, so we check the details together.

What’s the difference between a premium and a deductible?+

A premium is what you pay each month to keep coverage active. A deductible is what you pay for covered care before the plan begins sharing costs. Copays, coinsurance, and the out-of-pocket maximum also affect your total cost, so a low premium does not always mean a lower overall cost.

Enrollment and changes

When can I enroll?+

ACA Marketplace plans have an annual open enrollment period that begins November 1. Outside that window you generally need a qualifying life event, such as losing coverage, moving, marriage, or a new baby. Deadlines can change from year to year, so ask me for the current dates.

I’m losing my employer coverage. What are my options?+

Common paths include COBRA, a spouse’s plan, a Marketplace plan through a special enrollment period, or a private option. Timing matters because special enrollment windows are limited, so reach out as soon as you know your coverage end date.

Can I keep my doctors?+

That depends on the specific plan and network. Bring your preferred doctors, hospitals, and prescriptions to our consultation so we can check them against the options being considered. Network participation should be verified before enrollment.

How I can help

Can you help if I’m self-employed?+

Yes. We can explore coverage for individuals, freelancers, contractors, and business owners who do not have an employer-sponsored plan. Your state, budget, and eligibility help determine which options are available.

Can I choose dental or vision coverage too?+

We can discuss health-only coverage, health with dental, health with vision, or all three. Dental and vision products may be separate policies with their own premiums, waiting periods, and benefit limits.

Is Ayura Health an insurance company or a government agency?+

No. Ayura Health LLC provides health insurance advisory services and is not an insurance carrier or government agency. Sending an inquiry or booking a call does not bind coverage.
